EsOterica are back with their new video single "In Dreams" & upcoming tour dates.
Having once toured with the likes of Marilyn Manson and HIM - and with over one million combined Spotify and YouTube streams - the monolithic presence of South London’s EsOterica rises once again. The band has launched a new video single from their highly anticipated forthcoming album, in which ‘In Dreams’ has been revealed as the title track. The band has stated that the album is set for an early 2020 release and that more details will be divulged in due course.
‘In Dreams’ is a catchy, dreamy, and atmospheric offering from Tobias Keast and co, setting the scene to their signature blend of dark and melodic tones. The music video commits pathetic fallacy in its most obvious form, having a thunderstorm be a visual representation of the soundscapes that appear in what is set to be EsOterica's biggest song yet.
Esoterica’s drummer and producer Luke Keast explains “The song came to me in a dream, I woke up one morning and had this melody going around my head - it was magical. I went straight to my guitar and keyboard and recorded it quickly; in about 20 minutes. It sounded exactly like it did in my head. This is a really special song for us; even after four albums, if someone asked me now ‘what’s your best song… what do Esoterica sound like?’ I would play them this song.”
From a bit more of a morbid perspective on the comeback, Tobias Keast, vocalist, says
“If this doesn’t go well it’s shotgun in the garage’o’clock”.
The lyrics to ‘In Dreams’ are abstract and touch upon dreams, feeling lost and the need to be loved. It was recorded by Mat Sampson (IDLES, Turbowolf), mixed by Matt Hyde (Slipknot, Fightstar) and the video was produced by Dark Fable Media (Devin Townsend, Serj Tankian).
Esoterica are an alternative hard-rock band from London, with heavy, proggy and melodic moments. Blending big choruses and huge guitars with classic analogue synthesizers and punchy drums.
The resurgence of the sextet came with a sold out comeback show at The Black Heart, and follow up dates have now been announced for April 2020.
