Collibus, the female fronted progressive metal band, will be headlining, supported by some of the best bands the UK has to offer; Blood Oath, Torqued, Kinasis, Ethyrfield, Dead Fly, and Hybridize. The one day mental extravaganza will start at 13:00 and run until 23:00 at the Exeter Phoenix.
Holiofest 2019, which will take place on the 6th of April, is the second annual iteration of the event.
Holiofest was born after the loss of a dear friend Tom Holio to suicide. The project was initially intended to be a one-time event, an opportunity for Tom's friends and family to come together and celebrate his life with music, art, and theatre, all while raising awareness and money for mental health support (MIND). The event in 2018 was such a success, raising more than £2000, the decision was taken to make Holiofest an annual event.
All proceeds of the event will go to The Wave Project, which brings people together through surfing. Their surf therapy program is aimed at helping young people feel less anxious and more positive.
Founder and lead organiser Liselle Milner says of the event:. "Tom was the glue that kept everyone together - he had a way of reaching out and bringing people who had drifted apart back together. He was a huge supporter of emerging metal bands, and this event, which celebrates music, art, and togetherness, is the most appropriate way I can think of to celebrate his life. We are so delighted to have the support of an amazing group of musicians and artists who we know will make the day one to remember."
