Torfaen leisure Trust presents "Stadium Rocks" at Cwmbran Stadium with Skindred headlining, plus support from Those Damn Crows, Tigress, Who Knows Didley?, FallenTemples & Tribeless.
Torfaen Leisure Trust announced back in June their new event called "Stadium Rocks" ft headliners Skindred plus five support acts. Skindred are a band everyone should of heard about by now, they bring their Ragga Punk Metal...wid a twist to Cwmbran Stadium on the 26th October. Benji Webbe - Vocals, Mikey Demus - Guitar, Dan Pugsley - Bass & Arya Goggin - Drums are one band you should go and check out at least once. Marmite to some, but there is no denying you will definitely be entertained at one of their shows.
Next band on the line up is a band from Bridgend called Those Damn Crows, who are taking the UK by storm at the moment, they are good friends of The Rock & Roll Circus & I was lucky enough to have them play at my 50th Birthday a few years back. They are Shane Greenhall - Vocals, Ronnie Huxford - Drums, Ian 'Shiner' Thomas - Guitar, Lloyd Wood - Bass, David Winchurch - Guitar. First seen Those Damn Crows at Hard Rock Hell a few years back and loved them ever since.
Third band on the line up are a band from Chelmsford called Tigress. Band members are Katy Jackson, Sean Bishop, Tom Harrison, Josh Coombes, Jack Divey. I haven't seen Tigress live before, so I will look forward to catching them for the first time in Cwmbran.
Fourth band on the line up are Who Knows Didley? from Pontypool, the band are Paul Matthews (Jabez)- Lead Vocals, Gareth Allford (Duck) - Lead Guitar and Vocals, Glyn Mason - Bass Guitar, Craig 'Will' Willmott - Drums. Who Knows Didley? have played at a few Rock & Roll Circus Events recently and are due to play a few more in the next couple of months. Great bunch of lads and we always look forward to seeing them play at our shows.
Glyn Mason - "All I can say is that it is a massive honour to be able to perform with such a quality lineup. The fact that it is so close to home makes it even more special."
Fifth band on the line up are Fallen Temples from Cardiff, the band are Adam Vaughan - Guitar/Vocals, Joe Lewis - Bass/Vocals, Joe Stirland - Drums. I've known the lads for quite a while now, having played for us on numerous occasions. Always put 110% into their performance and are always there to step in at the last minute to help us out. really looking forward to seeing these lads on a big stage.
Adam Vaughan - We absolutely can't wait for this show. We went to Download as punters this year (Download - please give us a shout to play - wink wink!) and watched Skindred tear the main stage apart. Benji had the crowd in the palm of his hands and seeing that many Newport helicopters at one time was insane. Best band of the weekend for us...
Fast forward a few months and we have the privilege of opening a show for them in Cwmbran Stadium. It's such an honour for us and its the cherry on top of a great year for Fallen Temples. We were invited for a guest slot at Bloodstock 2019 where the tent was rammed, we've been up to Scotland for Stormbreakers, we've headlined Kingsfest 2019 and now we're going to support musical royalty. We're genuinely ecstatic, and couldn't believe it when we got the call. In addition though, the rest of the line up is incredible. Those Damn Crows are taking over the UK scene, Who Knows Didley? are good mates of ours and Tigress sound great.
It's going to be a great show in a potential venue for ongoing live rock events so grab your tickets. It's going to be a brilliant show. We're going to bring the riffage in truck loads.
Sixth band on the line up are Tribeless, a 3 Piece Alt - Rock group from South Wales, featuring Lydia McDonald - Vocals, Latif Bryant - Guitar & Vocals, Max Rhead - Drums & Vocals. Another band on the bill that I haven't seen yet, but our friends at Big Day Productions seem to like them, that's recommendation enough for me.
What I like about this event, is the organisers have taken a gamble and given some great young talent the chance to play with a legendary band such as Skindred. Roll on the 26th October I say.
