Paul Cairns checks out "Under The Raven Banner" from Atorc which is out on April 4th.
This 6 piece, battle hardened, folk metal band, have done an absolutely brilliant job with this album!.
The mix of vocals blends so well, mesmerising you, enticing you in and is actually spine chilling in places with the dark tones that give this album an added twist.
The mixture of instruments especially the violin are a perfect combination.
Story telling throughout, with really catchy riff's, gives an intense atmospheric feel to this album.
This is a well written album and well executed with the mixture of vocals and instruments.
I have to admit, this is something that I would have been a bit dubious about listening to, but, glad I took the time to listen to the album a good few times. There is a lot going on throughout this album, making this a really enjoyable album to listen to. The band have got something really special with “Under The Raven Banner”, well thought out and very easy to get into.
Available April 4th this is definitely one album to check out!.
